History & graves
People are buried here, and most of them are unmarked.
The dome is not only rock and wildlife. It is thick with human history — battlefields, old settlement, and the graves of people who died on this ground. Some are known. Many are unmarked, unfenced, and being lost slowly to weather, cattle, vehicles and time.
Heritage work here means finding these sites, recording where they are, and protecting them from the everyday damage that erases them by accident rather than intent. It also means telling the story attached to them, because a grave nobody can name is a grave nobody defends.
It is quiet work, and it is owed. These were people. They deserve better than disappearing twice.
